Toyota is hitting the boob tube hard to advertise its sub-compact Yaris, and the Japanese automaker has found its funny bone in these newest spots. The overall theme of the new campaign is that the Yaris is clever enough to do "almost anything" by demonstrating the few things this little three-door can't. One commercial, for instance shows the Yaris being to see a Yaris go swimming with the fishes for yourself. Thanks for the tip, Matt!

Funny - I liked the bobsled one better. For the "flight" one, the screen cap above sort of looked like the Yaris was fired via the catapult on the carrier. Video was a let down, as the Yaris just drove off the end. Should have been hooked to the catapult and launched off the end, that would have been more entertaining.

Couple people I know that work on carriers mentioned that they routinely launch "test loads" that weigh in around 30K-40K pounds (aircrafts routine weigh in around 45K pounds). Those get flung off the deck around 500-700 feet. A ~2200 - 2300lb Yaris should "fly" quite a bit.

Sounds like an idea! You should have been there to direct that ad...

EDIT: This flying thing reminds me of MovieStar's Sig. That Yaris should have been Tweeked THEN go see the carrier.
