Engine How's the head gasket on the 1zz?

    How's the head gasket on the 1zz?

    Easy job, or not so much? I'm thinking about just doing that to get the car running again...still burns oil, though. I imagine doing rings would be a serious headache, especially without a real garage..

    changing head gasket should be easy its like changing oil,thats how i see it.

    LOL! should be fun because you get to pull the timing chain and head

    doing rings is a pain... you have to pull the head then remove the oil pan & sump. you then get to pull the connecting rod bolts

    The Doc suggested that I just swap the motor...now I have to decide if I want to drop in a 1zz, or scrounge a 2zz from somewhere..

    actually every time when you blow a head gasket:D

    if you got the cash for a 2zz implant do it and call your local wreck yard or junk yard for wreck celica gts,matrix/corolla xrs.
