    The 1998 Corolla with a 2004 Corolla Engine

    Old engine had no VVT-i (contrary to the valve cover on the BEFORE photos), burned 1qt. every 800 miles, and ticked at idle. New engine has 21,000 miles and VVT-i. Swap done by SCC and wire harness by Dr. Tweak himself down in Savannah, GA.

    I live in Columbia, SC. I travel 3 states for work. I've been to Hinesville before, nice military town.

    Labor $2000. Wiring harness $475. Engine $1650. Other small fees...such as rear disc conversion kit

    The 98-99 8th gens with non-vvti are different from the 9th gens with vvti. The 00-02 8th gens and 9th gens only have minor differences.

    The 03+ 1zzfe have a different intake manifold with bigger throttle body, different tuning, higher redline, and most importantly NO MORE BURNING OIL THROUGH THE RINGS!!!

    You're right, but they did good work and made me a priority to get me going as soon as possible.

    Bingo! Except it was called the Superpilun CAI or something like that. I no longer have it as SCC made me a new intake at no charge in exchange for my old one.

    Nope, disc kit is sitting in my garage somewhere waiting for me to put it on.....:sleeping:

    was thinking of $500 +shipping

    engine has 1,400 miles on it.

    also has the alternator, headers (although rusted), intake manifold, etc etc. flywheel has a light amount of rust from the rain, everything else looks like it's in great shape.

    What did the engine run? My old '98 was burning oil and now is cooked..wouldn't mind dropping another engine in it.

    I only had one run as my clutch crapped out on me while I was on the interstate. From what I experienced, 5th gear pulled like my old engine did on 4th gear and the car pulled faster in every gear overall. The best was when I redlined it on the onramp getting on the interstate, the engine roar pass 6000RPM sounds downright mean on SRI and TRD exhaust.
    Looking forward to driving it more when my clutch is put back in....:ninjastea

    Well if you have a 98-99 LE, then you have a 1ZZ-FE with VVTI.

    Took 5 days. Hardest part was wiring as the two harnesses were completely different. You are going to have to look around for engine prices. Each one is different depending on year, condition, and what it includes.

    Really??? I have a friend with a 98 LE and when she gets diagnostics done at Tire Kingdom or something like that, the engine is listed as 1ZZ-FE. And I could have sworn I read that somewhere else also.
