    Clay bar + MR2

I think it came out fairly well- needs paint, though- there was some improperly-repaired rust, and it shows.

Damn, that's still a clean car regardless of the repair work. The only one even close to this that I've ever seen in person was a non-turbo and only had about 20k miles on it. It was a 1991 as well and stored most of it's life by a Naval officer.

You should have done a before and after. I have seen some before and after pics and claybar works miracles when used right. However, my uncle tells me that it can be destructive too if misused.

It's abrasive, which is how it works. If you use it too often or improperly, I imagine you could damage your clearcoat.

These are some pics from the day I picked it up. The driver's side door is dented & doesn't quite match..but as I was quoted $2000-2500 to do the needed body work, it's not a top priority. Seems awfully high for the overall condition of the car.

I just spent the whole day claybaring my car too. lets see, i woke up around 8, got ready by 9, from 9-1:00pm I washed a my dad's corolla, my mom's mpv and thats when i started on my car.. from 1:30-9:00pm, clay bar section by section, glaze and seal, polish and then wax. I got around to two coats of wax for the side and 3 for the hood, boot and roof. unfortunately, the coats of wax was more important than finish the whole car so the only part i didn't do is the front bumper. oh well, maybe next week. after it got dark and i couldn't see anymore, I wasnt sure if i got all the wax off so got my $20 costco buffer and began buffing and polishing the rest of the car in hopes that that would take off any areas i missed.

I guess next week if i decide to finish off the clay bar, i will also wash the car again, put another coat of wax all the way around and this time clean the inside and do my wheels and tires too since all that i didn't have time to do today.. bleh...

I wish I had that kind of time these days to detail the Rolla.
