    Ebay HID

hey guys i was wondering if the ebay HIDs were worth the money? I was thinking they were to cheap to be any good. Here is a link to what I'm talking abouthttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-00-TOYOTA-COROLLA-S-HEADLIGHT-8K-H4-HID-CONVERSION-K_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ36476QQihZ018QQitemZ280259568861QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW If those are crappy do you guys have any recommendations to decent ones? Thanks in advance.

Yeah I've been doing more reading...and now i'm really confused when it comes to HIDs. How does it work? Can you just hook it up with out messing with the cars system? Do they almost hood up like fogs just to the battery and run a switch to the interior? Can I use factory 98 corolla headlamps? Any info would be great. I saw some kits at xenondepot and there are ebay ones. I'm totally confused now. Any info would be great thanks!

I'm currently using Xentec H11 8k bulbs. They're a little too blue for me and I'm probably going to get some 4300 or 6k bulbs.

Just make sure that you don't get kits made in China. But from the auction you posted, they say they're Japanese so you don't have to worry. However, you need to email the seller and ask if the kit has the proper cutoff shields included. Otherwise you'll blind all incoming traffic and will be asking for a ticket. HID kits will replace the existing bulbs with ballasts and HID bulbs. They will work with your existing headlight switch. The ballasts will connect directly to the old bulb plugs. It's really a plug and play application. Just remember that you need the proper cutoff shields though. If they aren't included, you can purchase Casper shields to substitute since you have an H4 bulb application.

i haven't had any problems with the four cheep kits i bought. 3 for the corolla (highs/lows/fogs) and one for the cx-7 fogs. all i can say is seal all the creases with a sealant like rtv and you'll be fine.

Do you have cutoff shields with your kits?

thanks for the reply guys. I ordered those linked above and I will post pictures when I get a chance. I asked the guy for 6k lamps. I can't wait I'm kind of excited. Nice to know about the casper shield. I haven't heard anyone mention it. I'll look at the kit when i get it and buy them if needed. Thanks again guys!
