got a couple text messages and an email from my mom about it. i am originally from chino hills, but earthquakes are not a big deal. the only ones that matter is when they get above 7.

    EDIT:
i thought the northridge earthquake was 7.6, but looked it up and it was 6.7. i guess being a 5.8 is getting close to a serious shake. found this link for the most recent earthquakes.

I felt it too. It lasted longer than 5 seconds. When I looked at the clock it said 11:43 AM. Earthquakes don't phase me. I actually rather enjoy them minus the destruction.

we had a 6.4 in WA a long time ago, you could really feel that one :) The boring ones you just sorta feel dizzy and the room sways. The 6.4 we had was a fun one.. crazy violent shaking and stuff falling off tables.

the chino hills quake was 1/20th the magnitude of northridge. and the richter scale is measured logarithmically(spell check?) base 10...

5.0 is still pretty weak... you'd feel it if you were jacking off but at the same time you're a little paranoid because you think your parents were getting home and would walk in on you, or they're already home, and you're worried they might just walk in on you... you're a little bit freaked out and nervous to begin with anyway... wouldn't worry about it, jordaninc.
5.5 getting there, maybe some cracks
6.0 wall/road/windows/broken tvs and booze bottles cracking
    6.5 holy mfs!!!
    7+ pwned....

the northridge, ca quake was pretty devistating and that was, i dunno, a 6.8M? but, depending where you live, some homes could hold up to a 7M due to the advances in home building. it's really hard to say... i just wanted to say that even between a 5M, a 5.4M, and a 6M is a pretty big difference.
