Yeah it does. I had the head hot tanked without the cams or cam towers. So they look filthy. Nothing a couple of oil changes won't take care of. lol

The valve cover has an actual gasket, so I didn't use it for that. It's a Toyota part. It was about $15 for a tube. I still have a bunch left.

I got most of my stuff from parts dinosaur. lol

He usually has quality things for unbeatable prices. Plus he ships fast.

I worked at Advance, and even with my discount we could match those prices.

Well, the motor I'm rebuilding only made it 70K. The Prizm that it's going into had 130K before that motor started knocking. Hopefully, if the owner treats this engine well it will last the long run.

I guess I didn't do it out of the kindness of my heart. He had two Prizm's with bad motors. He gave me one of them and in turn I needed to take out his engine, rebuild it, and reinstall it. He's paying for parts. He's down over $1000 to me.

I was wondering about that because I saw Vamp put that on when he took the oil pan off when he was installing an oil temp sensor.

So there are no oil pan gaskets or other gaskets besides the main head and valve cover gaskets??

    Me too.

Well, there's other gaskets for the water pump, water outlet, the water "tube"... some of the smaller ones.

If I had the time I'd build engines for free. lol

I didn't get a broken engine. What I got was a 01 Prizm (the tan one pictured at the bottom) for rebuilding his motor. The 01 Prizm has a bad motor. It dropped a rod. He has a 02 Prizm. That's the motor I'm currently rebuilding (nearly done).
