    id say a subaru wrx. add about 2k in upgrades and you'll be faster than a stock sti. not only that, they look way better without the huge spoiler.

    I doubt youd be interested in it but you could go with the pontiac vibe AWD. same thing as a corolla or matrix and has a pretty nice interior imo

    The new vibe? I may be just me, but I don't like buying rebadged vehicles. I prefer the real thing. The AWD version is pretty slow too. I'm sure it would be awesome for trips the Tahoe and such though.

    The redesigned Matrix looks like it was beaten with an ugly stick. I think the new Vibe looks a lot better.

    About the AWD system on those cars, they tend to drive and act like FWD cars until the traction control detects rear wheel slippage, much like Volvo's.

    So in a sense, it's not true full time AWD like you get in a Subaru.
