    The 4A-GE Thread...

This thread is for 4A-GE owners regardless of what gen... Hope we could discuss about performance mods and troubleshooting as well... Hope to hear from you guys...

I have a 2nd Gen Silver Top 20v and has been sitting in my engine bay for 2 years... Although I must admit, I miss the 4A-FE, it served me well and what I like about it is that its a MAP sensor as against to the AFM of my ST...

built, forged, turbocharged 7rib largeport 16v here. before that was a stock, mls headgasket, arp equipped 3rib largeport turbo 16v. and before that was a bonestock 3rib largeport 16v.

im not a fan of the 20v engines, just their ITBs... a slight hint of boost into even a bone stock 16v eats modded 20v equipped cars for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

7rib 4A-GE matched with AE111 6-speed LSD tranny here.;) I love it!!! Thinking of that to do next.

20v has a nice top end power.

fortunately, i got my 20v with a C56 tranny (with the LSD), i nearly destroyed it using the wrong gear oil, :( my bad...

the only thing i like about the 20v engines is that it consumes less than my previous engine...

the helical lsd doesnt require a specific fluid like a clutch type. just use a good solid gear oil like redline mt90.
