you should be able to get a very good deal on JIC anywhere. I hear JIC north america weren't doing too well and are despirate for sales.

Yeah, but JIC's are renown and have a great track record.

That's because the selling prices were phenomenally high and not many could afford them.

Are JIC's inverted tubes like the Buddy Clubs?

You might want to add the NEX SS Coilovers too. It's a really budget non-adjustable full coilover setup.
    http://www.nexsuspension.com/p_sus_introduction1.htm

NEX SS Coilover: These SS coilovers from NEX are a great upgrade to your vehicle when you want to perform like many of the other high priced suspension company cars out there, but without the high priced company name and price tag. The NEX SS Coilovers are non adjustible, but allow a broad range of height adjustibility while providing more than enough dampening for any height adjustment.

Thats not true, on any other forum over half the members run coilovers. Even the CAMRY forum has more ratio of people running coilovers vs. lowering springs than there are here.

Additionally JIC wouldn't be doing so badly if they spend as much time making their dealers and customers happy as they do working on their own cars. Do some research, a few yrs ago dealers were dropping JIC left and right because of their horrible service. Last thing I heard was JIC reps were calling their own dealers to *beg* them to order more product and even giving huge discounts and free products.

JIC FLTAS are inverted 15ways adjustable, same as buddy club. I wouldn't be suprised if the dampener are made by the same factory.

it might be better now, who knows. I just see it as a opportunity to get their coilovers at deep discounts. Afterall theres nothing really wrong with their products.

But customers need support if something goes wrong or needs to be replaced. I wanted a set, but I'll go with another company that is more friendly.

I'm most likely going to get KSports. I'm waiting on an email from Jinsu-power to see if the vvti group buy is still valid.

added NEX SS and NEX GT. The SS has factory adjusted shock valving while the GT are 4way adjustable. I actually looked into them a while back before I decided on my cuscos but didn't find any type of reviews. I also noticed they were located in NorCal, Hayward but I have absolutely no idea where their warehouse is. Kinda weird.

I read the reviews for the NEX SS on other cars. Among those were the WRX, IS300, and NSX. I was shocked that the owners of these high end cars would consider such a cheap coilover. From the reviews, it actually faired pretty well. They all pretty much said that the ride was comfortable enough for everyday driving and yet aggressive enough for spirited driving and occasional track.

I looked up the applications for the Corolla and I could not find the GT applications. NEX only offers the SS versions for us. I'm contemplating between these or KSports. However, the price difference between KSports and NEX is only about 40 dollars and KSports are 36 way adjustable as opposed to none. I'm also not really liking the twin tube design on the NEX. KSports at least is monotube. I'm leaning extremely heavily toward KSports. In fact, I think I just made up my mind. :D I've been trying to get a hold of Wei from Jinsu-Power to see if I get get a set of KSports for 795 instead of the normal 890 price.

According to the application chart PDF they do offer GT for the corolla. The only difference between the SS and GT are the dampener cartage and those are pretty much universal between applications within the same brand so I don't see why they wouldn't offer a GT spec setup.

I wouldn't say a monotube setup is necessarily better than twin tube especially if you are installing onto a daily driven car. monotube actually rides much more harshly and you don't get the benefits unless they are inverted and/or you are driving them so hard that the oil begins to overheat.

I don't have much to say about Ksport, some owners loves them, some owners hates them. I'm not a huge fan but you cant beat that price. Would I buy them for my car? Probably not.

The question is, does the NEX SS also have the same features as a full coilover such as pillow top mounts?

I see they do come with a upper mount but I'm not sure if its spherical ball or if it feature camber plates. But I know even less about NEX.

I've checked. The lowest price for KSports are 909 shipped on ebay. Jinsu-Power sells them for 890 shipped and 795 shipped if the group buy is still good. I also found a really good deal on the NEX SS. I have a discount code I managed to get a hold of. :D

I just ordered my suspension. I should be here in a couple weeks I think. :D I can't wait to take it in the canyons.

Nope. I got the NEX SS. Jspex made it clear that twin tube has more street drivable characteristics and cools faster. I've ridden in jwczr's Corolla with Ksports and they're too harsh for daily driving(monotube). I got fed up with the ride in 10 minutes. I did more research into NEX. Reviews have all been good despite the dampening being non-adjustable and the spring rates undisclosed. I suspect it won't have pillow ball upper mounts either, so I might have to retain my camber kit. I must've read through at least 15 reviews on different cars. The best reviewer actually came from NSX owners. I was shocked. Apparently, the spring rates and struts have been matched perfectly to give comfortable not so harsh daily driving and yet gets aggressive when driving hard. I'll give NEX a try. Either way, if I look at it this way, I don't have to put the most expensive parts into the Corolla. There's always the WRX to spoil and waste money on. :D

btw, I picked up the set for 775 shipped including tax.

Actually its monotube that allow the fluid to cool down faster. Spring rates are listed as 8/6 in the PDF. You are correct, dampener matching is a extremely ctitical part of suspension engineering. I cannot stress enough about that! High spring rates are plenty comfortable if the shock valving can handle it.:)

I didn't order any special custom spring rates. I just stuck with the factory set rates. 8/6 if I'm reading it correctly. I can always swap other brand coilover springs later if I wanted to.

    Help

3 days ago, i installed Eibach springs and stock shocks on my 95 rolla. now the ride is bumpy. so i'm planning to change my stock shocks with either Bilstein Touring or TRD shocks.

road condition is rough. Now, the distance between fender and top of tire is 1.5fingers. if i install trd shock (design for lowering springs) will it lower my ride more?

need your opinion guys. thx a lot.

I don't think the TRD strut design lowers the car more. But then again, I could be wrong. IMO, you should get the Bilsteins though. Try for Bilstein Sports if you can. You want to match the harder spring rates with the right dampening. Overdampening is usually better than underdampening.

i see, thx bro. Bilstein sports? the yellow ones? any reference for part numbers? coz as i know from their website there's only bilstein touring class for rolla 95.

actually, i prefer using coilover. i have suzuki sports coilover installed on my suzuki swift. handling is like a sport car :) but for ae101 there are only available from K sport, D2 Taiwan, TRD, Aragosta in local shops. TRD and Aragosta are for racing use & overprice for me :( prices around usd2,500-5,000.

i'm in indonesia bro. it will need around 2-3 months to have that stuff come from japan. can't wait any longer :D

anyway, i called trd local dealer, they said status of trd shocks aren't in stock. need to wait 4 2-3months. good thing, i called bilstein dealer, they have both touring class and sports (this ones are inserts like koni) type shocks. so i'm going to have sports type instead.

I got a question for whoever might know the answer to. Are the top nut sizes on all stock or coilovers are the same. My TEIN camber plates and taking too long and I need to get an alignment asap. My tires are going bald. I'm looking to get some Cusco camber plates air express shipped. The thing is, they only offer them in two top nut sizes (either M14 x 1.5 or M12 x 1.25). So the bottom line is that I need to know if all coilovers use the same top nut sizes as some sort of standard. The AE101 and AE111 should have the same top nut size of the ZZE110. The thing is that I'm running the NEX SS coilovers. If anyone knows, please let me know ASAP.

I just emailed NextGenTuning to see if they could set us up with a UltraRacing group buy. I would love to get my hands on the 3 point front, 2 point rear strut, and 4 point rear strut bars. Some fender bars would be nice too.
