noticed that they don't have 20v only 16v. but i searched my clip's vin and it showed the blacktop in the pics.

i'm going for the JDM front and rear bumper. they fit nicer.

    Hey Jspex! more questions:

How is the vibration inside the car after putting on the polyurethane inserts in the car?
Was it hard to put the insert in the metal enclosure of the OEM mount?
Is the muffler for the TRD exhaust loud? I hate loud mufflers, are there quiet catbacks out there?
Did you install the ABS system? What would you need to get from the donor car to get ABS?

I'm still trying to find the latest car that came with a blacktop...

What I like about these bumpers is that they don't protrude as far from the car as the american ones. I like the front bumper he has which may be acquired from a corolla fx or se limited. And the rear one I'd love it if I could find the flush one, but if not the JDM is fine.

    About the headlights

DO NOT, under any circumstances, buy the taiwan headlights. I bought them and the plastic is cheap, they warped from the headlight heat in about 1 year or 2 years. Get KOITO used for less and give it a 1500 grit sandpaper with water vertically and horizontally then buff it with rubbing compound and polish with plastic polish. Look it up in youtube "polish your headlights"

I also just read about the CV joints breaking or snapping. I hated the metal braces they come with so I started using strong Tie Wraps. There's no way you can cut yourself with it and you can get a good grip of it to tighten it.

Hey man I just realized that I love your car even more because you did not do a wire tuck. I think wire tucks suck.

Because everybody does it. It looks nice but I'd rather see a 20valve(something you don't see very often) like this then all tucked up. For some reasons wires tucks remind me of a cross-dresser tucking his "you know what" up "you know where". haha I didn't mean people shouldn't do wire tucks I'm just saying the 20v looks awesome like like this.

lol... what are police doing looking in your engine? I don't think a wire tuck is going to save you at that point LOL :D

Did you know kaitaiya has a BT 20v under his hood also? If a cop looks under the hood and see's a wire tuck, he's gonna think something is illegal. But if your 4age looks stock and no diffrent from a 4af to the untrained eye such as kaitaiya has done, the police will see nothing wrong. That car is really, really fun too drive though.

thanks bro. :D yeah i tried to make it look stock. but the apex filter that came with it, kinna negates that. also the header... but otherwise, everything is there and looks stock. i bet even the RECON would think it's stock.(we have reconstructed vehicle inspection here that is performed by Police officers). to the unwise, they would see the toyota emblem and think it's stock.

    thanks..
    some updates..

got myself a maxjax to make life a bit easier
    [IMG]

Along with a MATCO electric impact gun... this thing packs 625lb/ft of tq
    [IMG]

used them to finally install the sway bar

but sadly shortly after I BLEW MY TRANNY!!!!

Kinda happened without warning. One day I was just driving like normal (quick shifting at 8250RPM).. noticed a gearoil smell and smoke coming from under the hood. Pulled over, look under the car and saw gear oil coming out of the right axle seal. Thought the seal just went bad but when I pulled it out I noticed chunks of metal behind it... Goodbye 6MT LSD *tear*

Food for though for anyone planning on using the 6MT for high power applications.. this tranny is fragile compared to the 5MT! Remember I was only running minor boltons on a stock motor..

HOLY $H!T  man that totally sucks. i just picked up a spare 20V BT trans from a guy out here for 3 packs of smokes. it's a 5MT though.so that makes 2 spare 20V trans and one 7afe trans.

i am jealous of your lift though. how much did that run you? i totally want to get one. does it run off 120v?

I'm trying to decide rather I want to get a C56 5MT and install a quaife LSD or another 6MT. Luckly I found a local guy selling one but he wants $600. The thing with the 6MT is it's rare, expensive, and fragile =/ But oh so fun to drive...

The lift does run off 120V.. saw the thing on Jay's Garage and West Coast Customs and wanted it. Then all bets were off after I found a guy selling it locally.

yup, I paid $1500 for mines. The thing is actually designed and manufactured by BendPak so its a quality tool. I figure it's a lifetime investment like all my other tools and I can make some money back by doing installs for people... I'd trade it to be able to live in Hawaii tho =P

the cost of living would kill you here though. gallon of milk at a normal store is $8, gallon of gas is $3.60 for super. i'm supplementing with some side powder coating jobs now though. ;)

^ yeh, I love that gun. It didn't even struggle taking off my axle nut. When I tried to use my air impact gun with the 3gal compressor at home it kept on running out of air doing the same job.

But yea the tranny issue sucks but luckly I was able to find another one pretty quickly.. Now money is the only issue.
