JspeXAE102 Build Thread (+ a lil bit of history)

So this project begun in summer 2002. While I was a junior in high school I discovered the CThree racing forum. At the time there were lots of haters on other forums telling me to just get another car, perhaps a civic (there still are, I *heart* haters). Why would I want another car with the same amount of power? And why would I want to have a car every guy and his mom would modify? I was sure the corolla platform is just as potent as the 120HP SOHC civic everyone else has. So I just took it as a challenge and I began planning for greatness! (don't get me wrong, I still like working on Hondas.. especially the K20 swapped RHD EG my buddy owns)

mods were few and far between because I was poor (still am), which was a good thing in disguise because the douche bag Duwayne (BladesM3) did not get a chance to scam me.

I begun by doing minor suspension work, springs, struts, strut bar but most of the original mods has been upgraded. At that time I also decided to do some body work, the beige has got to go!

I used what monies I saved up to import a JDM FX front bumper, I also took some time to learn plastic welding and modified a front lip to fit

Alarm stealth install, I also put in the clutch pedal, good things are yet to come!

At this time I felt that I outgrew my suspension setup sooo...

Wow. Good build up thread! :D Lot's of history with that car. You forgot to mention the EDM rear bumper though with relocated license plate... haha
    [IMG]
I think that's even sexier than the front bumper conversion.

This makes me want to trade in my car and get a 7th gen myself... hmmmm :)

    Damn straight! :D

nah, I live in northern california. I forget some people don't have the japanese font pack installed on their PC. Roughly translated from Japanese it says "Gunma, Japan":p There's a place in Denton Texas called JHOT Imports that gets containers in from Japan every month or so. I currently work @ http://www.memoryfab.com

Yea, I wanted to take some new (smaller) pics of that :p

Here are some clues about whats next to come:

yup yup, AE100 power folding mirrors.. I had them for a while, just don't have time to install them and I'm not looking forward to routing 4 wires through each door grommet.

I'm thinking about anodizing the stacks blue:p

So who'd care to guess which motor i've been eyeing?

looking good man, i really wish i could have kept the old '94 i used to drive. all of these threads ive been seeing lately are lighting a fire under my ass to get the gts rolling. i think im going to sell off the whole turbo setup and go with a carbed highcomp 7age largeport to better suit the chassis. looks like i may have to change my name to turbo2zzge soon.

JLee: LOL to each his own, I'm just not a huge fan of turbocharged FWD, AWD or RWD like your MR2 is another story

plu: Alby still has his rolla I believe.. but i think he's done modding, he's a buddy on my myspace.. he always seem like more of a BMW guy.

Phan: I just took a summer of intro to autotech while in high school.. other than that there's a wealth of info and DIY available on the internets.

    xplicit: yup, that's the plan

turbo4age: yea, same her bro.. I had parts stacked up for months that I haven't installed and I just got this car rolling again after multiple drivetrain problems. I started this thread to hopefully give me a push to start working. Can't believe you're selling you 4AGTE, I been following your build thread for a while.

DOT: yup, you know it. I am so jealous that dionel found that C160. I'm currently looking for a swap with the same 6spd LSD tranny.. If you look carefully at my arsenal, I already picked up a 6 speed conversion tranny mount bracket from japan. Now I'm just looking for a full swap that wouldn't break the bank.

Legit: I don't own the fender roller, just rented it for a day. I know machiii has one and they'll be able to roll your fenders. oh man the RSB is a PITA to install..I'm not sure if I'll have any free time to help you out.. this new job is exhausting.

Once again, thanks for the support guys.
