Will it work with fender mods: 15x8 (+35)

I'm considering picking up an '02 Corolla LE. I would like to go with an aggressive setup and was considering going with a 15x8 +35 w/ 195/55/15 or 195/50/15 (mild stretch). The car will be lowered on coilovers and I don't mind having the fenders shaved/rolled to make this work. What I would like to know is if there will be any rubbing against the struts, which is "un-fixable", if this is the case. Thanks in advance.

if you are running full coilover they would minimize chances of rubbing the strut because coilovers dont have that huge spring pearch. +35 should bring the out far enough, 195 should be narrow enough but you'd still need to run a fender roller on all 4 fenders to roll and bubble the fenders out a bit.. you might need to take out the front fender liners as well.

Thanks for your response. Anyone have personal experience with this setup? Or perhaps sample pics in your archives with this setup?

a 195 on an 8 inch wheel is going to be more than a little stretch. and a 15x8 with a 195/55/15 +35 is also going to look more mexican than yakuza.

focus on the wheels/tires in the below picture. i have a 15x8 -0 offset with a 205/50/15 and the tires a stretched... i even have 17x8 +35 with 215/45/17 tires on my 9thgen and the tires have a stretch.

my point is if youre going to go for a stretch look, go with at least a +1 wheel size. it truly helps to pull the look from "ghetto" to suprisingly clean.

but it all boils down to preference in the end. im a fan of a clean wheel tire package that doesnt use an extreme stretch to even fit. it has its place, and that place is the VW crowd.

btw, what wheels are you looking at? and any pictures of your car to help get an idea of their look and fitment?

and for reference here are the 17x8 with 215s and a +35 on my 9thgen (which should have similar fitment to the 8th.)

and here is a 15x8 -0 offset with 205s on my stock fendered '85 gts. up from a 14x6.

Thanks for the samples. I don't have pics of my car yet as it's still in route from FL. But it's a '01 Corolla S in silver. It will eventually be on coilovers and the wheel I'm considering is this:

i dont know that that wheel will ever really flow with the lines on a 9thgen. although it will be neat to see.

google "tire size calculator" and go with a tire as close to factory as possible. i would honestly also go with at least a 16 inch wheel on an 8thgen though.

I'd have to say 10.6 lbs a wheels is pretty light for a knock off. LOL :D

    Konig Heliums - 15x6.5 = 11.5 lbs
    Volk Racing CE28N - 15x6.5 = 8.1 lbs

Heliums are light but are still heavier versions of the CE28N.:D

Yeah, but you can pick a set of Kong Heliums for 370 shipped. Volk Racing CE28N's will cost around 2000 not including shipping! So for less than a quarter of the price. LOL :D

And that's the reason why there are companies like Rota and Konig.:D

    FYI:
    Konig Heliums = Cast
    Volk CE28N = Forged
