    tread width (in millimeters)/aspect ratio (percentage proportion of tread to sidewall)/diameter of tire

    That's all the tire numbers broken down.

    Yeah metric tire sizing is goofy.
    285x75r16 = 33" x 10.50"... I think.

    Exactly what I run. I run the TRD rims so you might as well get something close to these specs if you want to play it safe.

    You need to roll the rear fenders since people rub even with 6.5 with +40 offset. I took a fender roller to it and I currently run -2.0F/-1.0R negative camber, I have absolutely no rubbing in the rear but I hit the fender liner in bumps and mid-high corners. That's comming out this summer.:D

    Pretty sure they'll fit well without it but its safer to go in the negative end of the specs range. I just like running more aggressive alignments.

    I don't know too many FF's running more negative camber in the rear.. but I definately need to increase my rear camber because of the weak sauce mac phersons.

    I'm thinking of getting 5Zigen's 16x7 all around +42 offset. What size tires would be good? i have basically everything stock on my car. Would it be a good choice to upgrade springs/suspension before getting the wheels?

    205/45/16 will be perfect. Look at Toyo Proxes 4, General Exlaim UHP, and Falken Ziex 512 or 912. All are GREAT tires and will give you good grip and performance for the cost. They also have great treadwear ratings, so you won't be eating tires for breakfast every couple of months. ;)

    Generals are summer tires. We don't really get winter in Louisiana, so they work great for me. The Toyo and Falken tires I listed are all-season.
