    Motor Blew...

My motor blew up today. I was on I-4 and heard a weird noise coming from the engine. Just as I went to slow down the car starting smoking and I heard that dreaded noise of metal smashing into metal. Got out and there was oil all over the motor and a line from where I had pulled over. After waiting for two hours for a tow truck and towing in back to my house, I pulled off the mudguards and started looking to see what had happened. I think this would explain it, use the oil filter as a guide to how big the hole is(cell phone pic:(

God that sucks! But now you have a reason for an engine swap so you can change your username to FastRolla lol.

I just bought a house last month and have a child on the way thats going to be born in three months. This couldnt have happened at a worse time. Swap probably isnt going to happen, just need it up and running ASAP.

Kinda odd to have it happen during daily driving. Do you have a backup car to drive around?

    bicycle or bus, lol jk

getting a differ engine is cheaper then getting another car so...

nice bumper by the way, if you have the time you should replicate it.

How about picking up a cheap ass car for a couple hundred dollars and driving that until you have enough to swap?

Luckly I have a few friends through CCC that can help with the labor and sourcing out an engine. I already have one guy that can get the engine out on Sunday.

I've seen that happen during normal driving. Fortunately for you, it's a Toyota. Putting the same engine back into it takes no time, so long as you've got the right tools and a pair or two of extra hands. We've done a Camry, Celica and one or two of your Corolla in the driveway. It's usually a half-day's work.

How many miles did it have?

Could just be one of those bad apples. My uncle (AAA driver) actually towed a newer corolla one day. He said the rolla just quit working :superconf
