we went with virtual lawn in our yard. it was cheaper then most and felt the best. the only problem is that when it is hot outside, it gets hotter then regular grass.

its moving along nicely... the seller just needs to complete a couple small repairs and we should be getting the keys near the end of the month. very exciting.

we got locked in at a pretty good interest rate and actually got the house for 30k under current market value so our payment is LOW LOW LOW. we are pretty much planning to stay in this house until lindsay is out of school and finds a career. at that point i think we will rent it out and buy another, larger, home.

and we will definately have a bbq. right now i actually have 3 standalone bbqs. but i want to get a true built in bbq/smoker with a range built into the backyard.

i am also going to start welding and fabricating things for the gts now that i have the space.

thanks for all the kind words everyone, they are much appriciated.

I'm headed to Vegas this summer at the end of May. It's only 15 miles from Henderson. I'm tempted to stop by and visit if time permits. :D

well, where i live is a suburb called green valley which is technically in henderson... but it basically bridges the old gap between vegas and henderson. i am literally ~1 minute away from "las vegas"... its just a quick jaunt to the next stoplight.

where are you staying? depending on traffic my place is 5~30 minutes from the strip.

turbo4age added 4 Minutes and 9 Seconds later...

lol here are the best shots i have of the house so far... when i clean up the garage a bit ill get some more of my work area and such.

Nice Corollas. Ya'll really need to try some Bermuda grass seed. It's cheap and not hard to grow. If you get the good stuff, your yard will look like the golf courses or the SuperBowl field.

Bermuda is suprisingly drought tolerant. You're right that if you don't water it enough during the dry spells it'll have these eyesore yellow patches, but at least it comes back when given care. Most bermudagrass is grown in Yuma, AZ hence the Yuma variety bermudagrass. Don't know how much different climatewise Vegas is from Yuma. Just a thought.

that and i have this shitty rock landscaping. they did a terrible job putting it in. the irrigation is still in place, im nut sure of it condition though. and i believe they just let the original landscaping die and laid a vapor barrier over it and then rocks.

its going to cost an arm and a leg to get all of this rock out of here and disposed of.
thanks a lot man... on both counts!

read above. i would love to do grass, but its just a pain at the moment. ill be sure to take your suggestions into consideration when the time comes though. thank you.
