    Long and Hard.

so after a long and hard thought of a next car for me, i think i might go for an fj cruiser. first i got the corolla, loved it but i wanted the evo for a long time. then i saw and read about the mazdaspeed 3, and fell in love with that, then went back to evo. but ever since my bro got an fj and lost it, it has always been in the back of my mind. more and more i think about it, the more i want an fj. just my recent thoughts and decided to tell you guys lol.

The FJ is wicked cool for a trail-looking vehicle, but the mazdaspeed 3 is out of this world. Local guy dyno'd his stock and had 219 whp with 260 wtq. :D

if you get an fj, make sure you get the rear locker and a-trac. not sure how the upgrade packages work on the 08's, but just make sure you get whatever options include that. if you get a manual expect the gas mileage to be around 13-15 since it is full time all wheel drive. auto gets a lot better mileage since it is 4x2 until you shift into 4x4. there is also a big debate on whether to use 87 or 91 and with me, i get better mileage on 91 and it actual costs less compared to running 87. all cars and trucks you are looking would be running 91.

Make sure you actually use the 4x4 FJ for what is was designed for: off roading. :D Too many times have I seen rich kids and compensating old men or wives driving a big raised 4x4 truck with no signs of being off roaded at all.

All that aside, get a wicked skid plate and crash bar!

haha. but yeah definetly a 4x4 and the mud comes standard...my bro put 91 all the time and it was decent on mileage. the only problem was it was expensive for him...but i plan on getting it when i get the money ha.

I really like the fj too, expect the lights. I am not a fan of how they bubble out. But then again, I'm in the cosmetics of a vehicle just as much as performance. Besides...i shouldn't even have an opinion on here, I drive a flipping Elantra lol.

a difference of about 20 cents a gallon is expensive? it would be a difference of about $3.00-$3.40 a fill up.

Get the evo or the mazda, the fj (even though it looks cool) is a big waste of gas.

that would depend on the need of the owner. fj is great for my skiing/snowboarding trips. although my subaru was fun to drive in the snow i no longer have to worry about hitting anything on the bottom.
