Who here has the most annoying job?

I'd like to know if anyone here is especially annoyed at work due to the work environment, the nature of the job, or due to bosses, corporate influence and protocols, or pure bad management.

I'll go first. Just as a warning, this is a job description/rant I'm going into. I'm an assistant activities coordinator at a hospital/retirement home. That alone already explains why I find the job annoying. I have to deal with patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, inferiority complexes, patients with attention depravity, and other very annoying characteristics. I can go into more detail but that's the gist of it. Recently, I've been made to take over other responsibilities that aren't confined to the activities coordinator job description which it total bs. This is made worst by total disorganization and poor management and people skills of my boss who is in fact an overweight "Peg from Married with Children look alike" and her personal bitch assistant who is also my age. Those two run the entire corrupted activities department and are notoriously known for their bad organization skills. The director of the place is spineless and won't tell her to shape up or reprimand anyone for anything. Those two treat the residents living here and the volunteers here to help like human trash. They take advantage of everyone if they can. I have had several run ins with them and have had serious arguments. I hate being walked on or being taken advantage of. The majority of the workers here despise her and wonder why she still has her job. I think it's due to the gutless director of the place and the 'I don't give a crap' mentality of the corporate chain. I called up my boss and demanded a raise. Now she says she's going to contact corporate about it. As if she's really going to do that or if that's going to do anything... I told her to go ahead. I think I'm going to quit soon unless I get a much needed raise.

Does anyone have a more annoying job out there?

I doubt mine is worse than yours, but cooking for cheap bastards ain't much easier and some asshole waiters... quitted in 1 week.... bad pay too

one of my "bosses" is a miserable, self serving, ignorant, lying, piece of trash and since im young and part of a generation different than his he tries to drag me through the mud. i am a heavy equipment operator and work mostly on call for my company. nobody below management can stand this guy, and that spells trouble for everyone. he is getting older now and is hopefully on his way out... i cant wait til he is gone. hes driven me to the point that im ready to move on from this company because of his bullshit. he isnt safe, he isnt THAT great at running equipment, and he is just negative all the time.

otherwise i love the line of work im in.

haha that is exactly how my boss is. Ignorant, selfish, and self serving. She's also a complete Luddite and a dinosaur, both in size and mind. She is clueless with technology and avoids the computer or any technology for that part. Checking email for her is an all day process. At least you like your line of work. I simply despise mine. I can't wait until I graduate and get a real job in the biology area.

Well mine is not to do with the boss or co-worker because they are great, but some of the customers that come in. I am a architectural designer. Now to give an example this couple comes in a hands my boss this plan they found on the internet and says this is exactly what they wanted. So i have the task as too basically rebuild the house in CAD 2004, electrical, foundation, floor plan, and elevations. Well I change a couple of things but leave most of the big specs the same.

They come in on friday and tell him they were very unhappy with the plans, nothing works.....NO SHIT, you took it off the web. I wished they would have just said this is theEntry door I want, this is the color of the toilet, now you do the rest HAHAHA. So now I have to take another 3-4 days and change everything AGAIN!!!! I mean I know it is part of my job but dont come in and say your unhappy if your the one that BROUGHT THE PLANS IN!!!!!!!! And by the way the mansion is 12k sq ft....so it isnt small

And too beat it all other customers come in and design this big house, take it to there builder and find how much it will cost, come back to us and want us to scale everything down in a matter of days, sometimes hours. It doesnt happen people!!! When you change just one wall, especially if it is a structural wall for the 2nd floor framing, YOU CHNAGE EVERYTHING!!!!

thats crazy... i do a lot of underground digging and they change shit all the time. most of the time WHILE WE ARE DIGGING! not to mention the retards that tell us to dig, dont worry about utilities that there isnt anything there... then BAM! existing utilities

not only does my one coworker suck... but working around all the other trades, all of us fighting for every inch we can so we can do our job, sucks. i am typically in a large piece of equipment too so when some dickhead plays invincible and sneaks up near me and around me to try and get me out of the way really irks me the wrong way. thats a nice quick way to get yourself killed...

It wouldn't be bad if it was him that got killed in the process. haha jk

i dont wish death upon anyone i work with. but i do wish he would get hurt or something so he cant come back. he is always hitting and nudging people with buckets and even walked up a supers leg with a steel tracked mini excavator... AND LAUGHED ABOUT IT!

I too work at the hospital as an orderly. It's such a pain to have to wait on nurses, find nurses, have people such as nurses and doctors treat you like crap cuz you are "inferior" to them. I hate when I get a patient with a bunch of IV's, a patient who can't walk....and I especially hate doing a morgue run.

Try bankruptcy law. Dude, I've got some stories about that crap. Mostly, the clients are only nice when they need something like a car recovered from a repo man for non payment. Once they get it you turn into enemy #1 and all you'll get is a combative, finger snapping, finger pointing, neck poppin biotch who'll tell you straight up "What I ain't gonna be doin' honey, Hmmm Mmmm" or one who files and then moves and changes their phone numbers...and doesn't inform you. Their case gets dismissed and you can't get in touch with them then 2 months later when Repo finds their(Insert American sedan with crappy resale and often sold first as a rental car) they come rollin' up in your office pissed cause "I didn't know" anything was wrong and ya'll gonna get mah car back!!!11!!

To summarize my job as a tech support call center technician for a cable/internet/phone company:

-most people dont' know the difference between the ISP and PC manufacturer (i.e, I get calls from customers asking why they got a virus and how to get rid of the BSOD).
-all the customers have their own server (funny if you know anything about the internet)
-their equipment (i.e, PC, router, TV, phone) NEVER has a problem. The fact that their 2.4GHz phone, mouse, and keyboard wont' work near each other HAS to be EATEL's problem.

sounds like my friend's company...just with how everything is ass backwards.

my wife is thinking about going to school to become a pharmacy tech.

eh i havent decided on my major, maybe history or economics....

im just behind on credits so im taking hte motherload this semester and last.


oh and i used to work for lexus and those customers were pretty annoying =[ one lady came in and told me to change her emblem on her car bcuz she said it was put on backwards...i kinda looked around at other cars and said no

You really don't need to go to a school to become a pharm tech. Just tell her to study for the PTCB certification exam. www.ptcb.org
That's all you need to become a certified technician. That's the only requirement places are looking to hire for. However, pharm techs don't make too much. Upwards of 15 dollars an hour at most in general. Most of the pharm techs I know only make around the 10 range. As for me, I'm an aspiring pharmacist... It's taking forever and I'm thinking of changing my agenda to become a microbiologist or perhaps a cell biologist. Stem cells are in my real interest.

A history major won't land you a job. I say go with Economics even though there's a bit of more work involved. I say that the more work going into a major is well worth the investment in the future.

yeah people keep telling me that, but im second year and i am a semester behind so i still have time to decide
