So when the kid is running where the parents don't want them to go, YANK!! Oh no you don't!
"Hey Honey, I'm gonna go take the kid for a walk now."
"OK, but only one time around the block."

Now doesn't she look happy? Now she can go wherever she wants. Within a 3 foot radius. :D

What are these companies thinking?!!! You might as well have a dog instead of a kid.

I've seen several kids that probably shouldn't be let out into public without a leash.

Less than effective parenting and discipline methods leads to a need for a device like this.

Then they should step up parenting skills instead of resorting to animal-like treatments for children. What's next? Choke chains?

you mean parents are actually supposed to teach their kids DISCIPLINE??!? silly man, that's the TV's job. :p

i hate moos and their unrestrained sprogs. now, responsible parents? i love them...i wish all parents could be like them...and their children are usually a delight to be around.

you're living in a dream world if you really think every parent is going to actually behave like a parent.

You are definitely right there. It's so sad yet true. Imagine, these kids growing up are going to be the next generation. I guess I'm just going to have to set an example of parenting when I have a kid.

Let's just say that a choke chain is better than me clotheslining kids on those friggin skate heeled shoes in Target who are cutting corners and flying around like banshees while I'm trying to shop. Saturday I went in for a few things and ended up get run into by one of the little bastards. Mummy was no where in sight and the little spawn didn't even say I'm sorry or excuse me. If I had seen it coming I would have shoulder checked his little ass into the Doritos.

At work, I see parents with these all the time. Usually, the parents attitudes are exactly what you would expect them to be too.

LOL you should have grabbed him and directed him to his mother and tell her what happened to her face.

Yes, I know. Yet no one does is anymore. How about I just be a normal good parent then? :D

Yeah that Kiddie Leash idea is just incredibly STUPID - just how lazy are some parents these days that they just couldn't keep an eye out on their toddler(s) to keep them from wandering off.

My neighbors rave about them all the time - how easy it is to go shopping and still know where your kid is. I'm like WTF? - just tie your kid off onto a stake in the middle of the store and your OK with that??!! Totally nuts. They already make something that keeps your kids close - its called a "stroller". If the kid is like 4 or 5 years old - then they should know better than to run off on their own. I'll pick my kid up by his heels if he F's up - he knows better than that. I agree with the above comments - just poor parenting. These are children, not pets - if they can't tell the difference or they that this idea is cute - they should be having kids in the first place, or had them for the wrong reason.

    stroller... :lol

100% agree! When I saw that kid that I captured on photo, I was in shock. He would be running top speed in one direction only to be yanked to a stop by the choke chain and dragged back to the caretaker. I think it was his grandmother. I mean, it was so wrong that in a sense it was funny. It seemed like I was watching some sort of sitcom.

Yeah, every kid acts a little differently when hooked up to a harness like that. When I worked retail - I've seen kids that were pretty content with the harness and others that were others that were like rabid animals. They would run every which way in the store and given too much slack in their rope, they would be wrapped up and around poles, shopping carts, display cases, etc. Was a nightmare for other shoppers. Kids would cut across other shopper's paths and instantly setup a trip wire - if the person wasn't paying attention.

It's ridiculous. If the parents don't want the kids running everywhere, then why not just strap the kids on their back? Jeez.

^yea, at my wal-mart, the kids on leashes are usually more behaved but that's mainly because the parents come off as being assholes. They're the ones that yell at their kids so loudly that you can hear it from the other side of the store. It's funny to see a "softie" parent with one of those though. They usually try to talk like their angry but don't wanna make a scene so they make they make that face where they bite down with their teeth and without moving their jaw, they start telling the kid to behave, lol.....i dunno, I guess you'd have to see it...

Next thing you know they're gonna come out with Kiddie Shock Collars that shocks the kid with a thousand volts at the push of a button....or if they walk 10 feet away from the parent.

It just goes to say that people these days are morons. If it keeps going at this pace, those kids on leashes you see now will be the garbage generation of tomorrow. Now doesn't that make you worry? Parents are to blame. It's their neglect that caused the Columbine and other copycat shootings. I come from a Taiwanese background which is strict but fair. When I was a kid, if I misbehaved or made too much noise in public, I knew I was going to be punished severely later. I know spankings and beatings is under a lot of criticism and scrutiny for being immoral, but it sure works I tell ya! It'll put the discipline right back into a kid if you know how to use it right. Not senseless beating. Only when the kid can acknowledge that he/she has done something wrong. Eventually, you won't even have to spank at all. The mere threat of it would put them in line. This is just my 2 cents.

Dude, I worked PT at Sportsman's Warehouse for a few months. I was there the day the rep from Tritronics dog collars was there. Duuuude! We ended up goofing off with the demo he had...and played a little Jackass shock game on our hands with it. Let's jsut say that one of those would set the most stubborn brat of a kid super straight...probably stand em up like a friggin soldier too.

These kids' parents are the garbage generation of yesterday mostly. The Reagan baby me-me-me kids. Self centered, vapid little spoiled brats of the 80s are grown with minions of their own. I remember growing up with them. I hated them and their pisspoor attitudes. They were the first "alternative discipline" generation. Straight from the land of time out, lol.

Yeah, the age of the baby boomers... Damn self centered selfish generation. George Carlin did a piece on that. "Give it to me, it's MINE!!!" LOL They had everything when they were growing up and now they want to restrict everything for young people these days. No drugs, rock n' roll, or sex yet back in their day... Complete BS. Hopefully the next generation will be more disciplined and understanding which is still a long shot.
