    *Above the Law

I was at Kaiser Riverside here in Calif. to be pick up my wife from work (she's an RN at the NICU dept.) & it was about noon time. When cop parked his black & white on a FIRE LANE CURB because there's no other spot for him to park since he finished saving a spot for his wife's car then he parked on the red curb. He & his wife had to take their child to the ER. But if that was an ordinary people he/she would have gotten a ticket for it.

This cellphone use while driving will take effect 2008? Few days before the Kaiser incident I saw this cop talking on his cellphone while driving. I know I'm not the only one who've seen this kind of situation.

I see that sort of thing too. Not only are the cops talking on the phone, but they're lane changing all over the place without signaling as well. Cops are some of the worst drivers which is so ironic. My gf had to help a friend file a police report on a hit and run on her friend's car and the two cops were giving her attitude. Damn cops. Serve and Protect my ass. It's more like Annoy and Harass.

Cops will be exempt from the cell phone law.....as a lot of communication between officers is done by cellphones.

Not sure what the big deal is here....so he parked on a fire curb. Pretty trivial.

My wife is an RN at L+D and NICU as well.

Well if I was a cop I would use that to my advantage too.

Perhaps, but oddly enough, they aren't causing most of the accidents. :p

Emergency vehicles are typically exempt. Check your local laws & find out for yourself.

yeah same here, or sometimes they put their sirens on just to get through a light.

my moms fiance drives a firetruck and said a cop once parked in a no parking zone. and since you arent stupposed to park there he rammed the car going 30mph...and a firetruck at 30mph will eff anything up.

    so its just bad karma

I've worked at Wal-Mart over the years and can attest to the fact that people park in the fire lane all the time and it kinda pisses me off sometimes when I feel like making a big deal outta it or something. Like, I just wonder to myself, how important in this world are you to park in an area clearly marked "No Parking" even if you have to run inside for a few minutes? And I sometimes wonder if they just completely missed the parking lot and decided oh, well i'll just park at the very front of the store. One person did that and it got on my nerves a bit too much one day that I took two shopping carts and placed them upside down next to the front and back side of the car and wrote a note talking about how ignorant the person was for thinking he was above everyone else and stuck it to their windshield.

Sorry for going off on a slight tangent....

haha people do need to be reminded how moronic and ignorant they are. You should hand out parking ticket notices. They can be found here:

I still need to get around to printing a crap load to distribute.
Firefighters are permitted to do anything to cars parked in the fire zones if they are obstructing access to fight a fire or situation.
