buffing a scratch out?

    buffing a scratch out?

    i bought a pair of taillights from someone and they had a few scratches in them...not that i care because they were too cheap for me to passup...and i was just wondering if i could buff a few surface scratches on them off

    At home depot, you can buy a 8oz bottle of polish for Lexan. Product # GE-71 and buy some cotton rounds. :)

    Helps if you get a machine to help polish thos scratches out - otherwise, you spend a ton of time using elbow grease to buff them out.

    I've used Meguiar's Plastic-X and in the past, their professional Plastic Care #10 and #17 - works like magic. Add a Mother's Powerball buffer - and it cuts the workload down by an order of magnitude. 3M also makes a plasitc cleaner and polish - also works really well.

    I 2nd the Meguiar's PlastX. It works wonders for scratched plastic.

    I would say use Meguiar's everything. Start with scratch remover then onto PlastX and a sealer wax.

    yeah...i guess so i asked the guy if they had any and he showed me right too it...but i returned it bcuz those headlights dont work...long story
