As cool as that looks, I don't think I could ever actually be the driver of a rally car in a race like that. Heck, I dunno if I could even be the codriver and be able to keep up, lol. "Okay, 5 left 5 left, no wait 15 right!!!!"

I was on service crew for this guy:

at Rally de Paris in Paris TX on Thanksgiving weekend. I don't think any amount of video coverage can compare to seeing it live and in person. A lot of people assume that becasue the co-driver doesn't have an active physical role in controlling the vehicle the job is easy. It's far from it. The driver relies soley on the instructions given by the co-driver. In WRC, the co-driver is READING(I'd puke btw) several notes ahead of the car's current position. The car usually gets a shakedown pass so the team can make notes to the pacenotes.
BTW the 6 right, 3 left 90 over crest, etc. usually denote the gear the car should be in, direction of the turn and angle(severity) of the corner. Each team develops a special language after so long to make the noting easier.

What you see at X-games is what is referred to as a Super Special Stage. They have arena stages in other countries as well. It's good for the fans who can't hike into the woods to watch the cars fly by.
