I remember coming across this. There are a bunch of other videos out there like this one. You can't trust what you see with your eyes anymore...she still kinda looks scary...

That guy is a pro man. I wonder what the girl in the picture is thinking now? Its a new way to find fat girls that have the potential to look amazing. LOL (I'm not trying to be sexist.)

I bet if overweight people had their pictures photoshopped to show how they could look if they lost weight, there would be less overweight people....just my theory...

I was reading some of the comments that were left on the youtube video. According to some, there are all sorts of beautiful, fat and skinny. So that's it huh? People should give in and love themselves as they are? But I do see it more often now. People say that they're loved already or happy as they are so they aren't going to exercise for the better. Now that's lazy. And then when its reported that America is becoming obese, they shrug their shoulders, look the other way, and pretend they're deaf. Well its not genetics. Its due to the lifestyle. Getting up and moving around will keep you fit. Boy, I've heard so many people say its due to genetics and that their father or mother was fat too and so that's why they are. BS! haha I started to rant. Carry on.

Well I won't completely rule out genetics because even though it is possible to lose weight if you're genetically overweight, it's definitely gonna be harder. Heck, I know people who are fit but give up on exercise after only a few days or weeks. I've been physically active for a long time but at times, I wish I could just give it a rest. For someone overweight, you have to consider what their body demands and how easily they would fatigue if they don't get the food that they're normally use to getting or how quickly they'll fatigue from exercise-related stress on their body and internal organs. Also, you have to consider that a genetically overweight person has a much more dilated stomach in size compared to the average person. On top of that, metabolism is a winding road for them too. I'm not saying its not possible...just not as probable.

Sure, you can have a tendency to become fat but it doesn't mean you have to be. Genetics has very little to do with it all. You've seen Hollywood stars. Then put on and take off pounds constantly. Its all about self control. People need to be educated. Overeating and exercise all has to do with self control and mind mentality. Its like quitting smoking. Anyone can do it if they put their mind to it. Being overweight means that all that food coming in isn't being used immediately and gets stored as fat for later use. If it isn't being used, then there was no need to eat that excess food in the first place. Even minor and moderate changes in eating habits can make a big difference. A lot of overweight people use all sorts of excuses. Denial is their way out. Simple walks or cutting some extra food such as desserts would make a world of difference. I do agree with stomach size. A solution to that would be to eat slower. The hypothalamus would sense the body is getting full even though you haven't eaten that much. Drinking water also help lessen hunger or can make you seem full.

    btw sugar is pure evil.

Hypothalamus controls appetite, right, but it does not control genetics. A dilated stomach is something that either A)a person was born with or B)conditioned to become that way. The stomach is not like the bladder. It can not grow and shrink. It doesn't have any muscles to return to "normal". Its basically just a sack that folds upon itself and grows as it fills. Although it can not retract to a smaller size, it can continue to grow and stretch. This is one of the reasons why some people turn to gastric bypass so that they can seal that part of the stomach off to where your brain will only sense that portion of its stratified cells. That also means its only using those stratified cells to absorb nutrients so in the case of a gastric bypass patient, a person would need supplements to make up for deficiencies that their body has been use to cuz everyone has their own standard for what normal is (go to the hospital and see if you can find WNL or the word "normal" written on anyone's charts/records anymore)....but at least they'd eat less. Your hypothalamus is not gonna sense the stomach is full....unless it is full. Just like how the gas pump will stop a lot sooner on a Civic than it will on an Excursion because it senses it's full when it's full and a smaller tank of course fills quicker than the larger one. If it's not full, it's just gonna tell the pump to keep filling....same concept. Put that next to an inhibited metabolism and you have a person who is always hungry, exercises but still gains weight even after a switch in diet, has to supplement if they begin losing weight to satisfy their intrinsic nutritonal demands, and motivation. For some of our clinicals, we had to set patient goals. Whether they were for recovery, rehabilitation, or just plain wellness plans, they were given goals. One of our patients had emphysema but had been a long time smoker. One of the reasons why they got it was because of smoking. Of course, we needed to correct that. But we couldn't write down "Patient will discontinue smoking within X days/weeks/months/years" or "Patient will slowly decrease the number of cigarettes per day smoked to diminish habit" because they were unrealistic goals. Even though they knew that each cigarette they smoked shortened their life by just that much more, it was still hard for this person to just quit. If a person wants to change, they can do it but i'm sayin that it's harder for someone who's lived their life that way. Like I said before, it's not that it's impossible.....its just not as probable.

I didn't say the hypothalamus controls appetite but I do agree that its not impossible, just improbable.

    Why not?

I disagree. I take it that you have never been addicated to anything? I also can assume that you arent overweight, or never have been?

Sure. Love yourself but it sounds like stubbornness and ignorance.
I've been addicted to many things and I've managed to fix those addictions. And yes I am a bit overweight and I'm already losing the weight. I'm not trying to attack overweight people. I'm just tired of seeing America being the "fat unhealthy nation". Many people disregard lifestyle changes for healthier living and eating. After seeing people complain that they're fat and not doing anything to change is really stubbornness and ignorance to me.
Anyways, this is way off topic. Carry on.

It's one thing if they made themselves that way....if at one point, they were at a healthy weight but ate and ate until they were overweight....but it's another thing if they were born that way or brought up wrong to where it becomes very difficult to just make that kinda turn around. And are you referring to the overweight nation of America or the obese America...

The general overweight nation of America. I don't really have much to say about obese people unless its due to their extreme eating habits.

Nah, I do agree with the fact that a large number of overweight people are just too lazy, and dont have the will power.

Its just funny to see how many overweight people are looking to surgery and diet pills as a fast way to lose weight instead of controlling what they eat and how they exercise. I mean if they have the time and money to invest in those things, why not just work it off? It is true when they say about the chemical comfort of America. We're addicted to surgery and prescribed drugs which we don't need unless its life threatening. All this pharma spam on TV about ridiculous symptoms such as RLS(restless leg syndrome) inspires people to buy these medications that do absolutely nothing and spawn more pharma.
Ok ok we're really off topic now. :lol

You know how swimming trunks and other lightweight shorts had an "inner net" like back in the 80s?
