    CAI and Header

I plan to get new headers and a cold air intake. Problem is I dont know which brands to buy. I am hoping someone will have some with dynos to prove horsepower and torque gain. I am looking for the best bang for my buck parts. All help is appreciated.

rollatuner110 I know youve got the forza header. I think I read on vvti.net that you said you had to weld it or something? And performance wise is it worth it? CELs or any other issues?

I had to weld it to the exhaust section to get a good seal since it developed an unfixable exhaust leak. Other than that, it wielded good results. Top end power is present and is worth it in my opinion. There were no issues with the CE light. The header includes a factory fitting O2 sensor fitting. Fitting the header was a bit tight but if you remove the cruise control cables and turn it sideways, it fits just fine. Oh there is one more thing. A very small section of the header must be removed to connect to the exhaust section properly. A normal hacksaw will do it.

just wondering how much bigger in diameter are the forza headers compared to the stock exhaust manifold?

the stock exhaust is 1 1/2", and the fonza are probably 1 5/8" for my guess.

the collector looks bigger. Maybe the ports are just 1 1/2. Still looks better than the stock ones.

I measured it and gave numbers on vvti.net a while back.
I found the thread. Took forever.

It looks like there's only a 0.1 inch difference between stock and Forza, however, its the long runners that help with top end power.

its really not hard at all more so its the fuel and ECU management you have to worry about.what is harder is to do a custom ram air intake, unless you have no fog lights then its easy but other than that to route it another direction means more problems.

So if I got the celica intake manifold and tb, what if I had a custom cai made that ended up in same area as elp one?

yeah but flexible hoses restrict and distort airflow. and mayur nothing much its just the diameter you use and the amount of bends you got going. there is another alternative but that would require cutting just a bit off the front on the left side of the raidator in front of the coolant tank, it would also require relocation of the coolant tank. you would also need a drop-in circular air filter

The 200 for the header is well worth it. Swapping to the Celica GT intake manifold will actually make you lose power if you don't retune the car. Ask Vamp. He lost power. IMO its too much work and money to get the GT manifold to fit and gain power. Forced induction would be a much better way to force more air into the motor.

forced induction is a great way to go but you would also need to rebuild the engine if you decide to past 8 PSI, and even then it can be expensive, I spent a good chunk of my loan rebuilding the engine. Another thing is exhaust temperatures on the lower front of the cabin.

unless you want to modify the intake, and the fuel settings. just go boosted up to 7 PSI max , adding fuel injectors, high flow fuel pump, return fuel system, and re-tune the ECU.
