**need help from ppl w/ 93-02 w/ TEIN S-TECH**

i got questions for u guys that are 93-02 lowered on TEIN S-TECH..

1.) did u guys hav big time camber wear after lowering especially the front??
2.) did alignment help?? or can it even be fix??
3.) did u guys end up buying camber plates??

i no problems with the front with the stock cambers. right now i have auto adjustable cambers off a civic.

right now i have no problems with it..and i have it on for like 8 months already

tell me more... cuz my 95 installed TEIN STECH w/ KYB GR-2 and i'm wearing out one side of each front tire...

your front may be too low other than that the front cambers may have loosened up over time causing the front to lower and eat up the inner part of the tires springs,struts may also be faulty check them out , and try to bounce the front by pushing on the corners if pushing down moves fairly easy struts my be worn out if response to rebound you may have faulty springs. if you can't find the problem take it to an alignment shop and have it checked out.

the struts are brand new same w/ the springs... and it doesn't bounce so i think its not that...

you may have some adjustments off then. you should have a bit of bounce and rebound. your camber is really off it its that bad. check for looseness and/or breakage.

The people who did your alignment (if you got one) just messed it up. I've had S-techs for 3 years and no uneven wear issues. I've been through 2 sets of tires in those 3 years, but I think that's from my driving style. lol

I'm having some problems also. I recently changed my suspension system and the rear tires were rubbing the wheel well when I hit a dip in the road or when I took turns. I installed KYB GR-2 struts w/ S-Teins and they were rubbing like crazy. Then I change the spring w/ the H-Teins it help to some degree, but there is still rubbing when I hit dips or bumps. I do daily driving and drive in the city where the roads are rough. I was thinking of putting back the stock strings in the rear. Any suggestions?:sad:

i have the same problem but my teins are "H" type

the problem with the corolla is not the springs but the rear lip the setup of the suspension will not allow proper adjustments to the rear. Also since there is not really any correct setup for the car you have to modify the rear camber even more and the rear adjustments to suit the suspension. its a pain in the ass but its well worth it. it goes as far as realigning the lower camber and tierods.if you ever look at the original specs of the rolla 7th and 8th gen the front track is wider by 1.2 inches the rear tires are closer. the compensate for the shorter track in the rear the multilink setup allows for the tires to sit inward and therefore allow increased traction in all driving conditions.if it hits is because either there are incorrect tire/rim size and /or incorrect struts,springs.

EDIT: i just remembered something, you can add a small millimeter spacer and roll the rear lips. my friend did this to his 01 yet me and him have the same setup but i did not have to do this. the only difference between the two vehicles is that mine is an 01S and his an 01LE

I changed from the oringal wheels and tires size 185/65R14. I have now 195/50R15. I'm installing the stock string in the rears. I hoping to get a comfort ride.

i thought originals were 165/65/14

They are. The R stands for radial.

235s would rub like hell on the 8th gen. I've got 205s on mine and it rubs a little.

going straight? the only time i rubbed was when i turned the steering all the way to the extreme right..but i was running on 45+ offset..

wonder if i get my fender rolled, how wide of a tire i can fit..

Yeah going straight over bumps and dips or having more weight in the back due to passengers. I have no scraping turning the wheel.

i have a 44+ offset on my 18's the current setup i t has with the rims off the MR-2 are 195/60R15 the 185/55 it had in the front are too small and the 205 in the rear are too big and use up asubstantial amount of fuel overall for the vehicle.
