My community college is just like that. Some of our teachers flat out told us about their bell curve that the school suggested they follow. Like if a class had too many A's and B's, it was too easy. They expect that at least half the people that paid for their classes to fail or get below a C???...that I don't understand..maybe in highschool where it's free but when some of my teachers posted grades on their office door, it was only natural to look for your grade, the highest grade, the lowest grade, and the number of both high and low grades. There usually weren't that many people with a D or below in my science classes but thats understandable since most everyone in my science classes were using those prerequisites as their platform for their major.

my english teacher also said something like he had to fail a certain ammount of people but wasnt going to do it because its not fair to the students. he feels since school is a learning process and if you come in knowing nothing but leave knowing something thats good enough for a passing grade
