    2008 corolla?

any one have news articles or rumors about what the 08 will have? i saw one article on vvti.net but i didnt know how believable it was for US. i heard they were going to have an awd model available and id like to confirm/deny that if possible. and what about a turbo? someone also said they were going to have an optional turbo putting out 200hp to compete with the cobalt SS. of course i dont know how believable those sources were. anyone know for sure?

The regular one will have a new 1.8 Liter engine (2ZR-FE), which is rated around 134hp and 129 ft-lbs of torque and 40.5mpg under japanese test (middle ground between city and highway normally). It'll probably be available with the new Super CVT-i transmission...

I found something stating that in Japan it will get a 5 speed manual, but in Australia it will get a 6 speed manual... also, I found something about a 2.2 liter VVTI-Twin Turbo-version with optional flap-paddles... hehehe... that could be fun :)

The Auris in Europe (basically replacing the Corolla, and damn near identical to the sketches for the "US" Corolla)...

    The petrol powerplants include a 1.4 VVT-i (97 HP) and 1.6 Dual VVT-i (124 HP), while the oil burners are a 1.4 D-4D (90 HP), 2.4 D-4D (126 HP) and 2.2 D-4D Clean Power (177 HP).

    Here's some pics:

the setup is completely different on the rear its uses a multi link setup and differently designed crossmember, it may work but it will require a lot of time to fabircate the mounting points and position setup. the rear wheels drive architecture will also require the relocation of the exhaust and and will also require the spare wheel well to be modified for the rear drive sxle to come into place.
