Talk about running your mouth off...

Not sure if anyone has heard of this but it has spread to even CNN. An openly gay man from Jersey City, NJ posted his resume on career builder and he was contacted by a local army recruiter. When the man explained he was openly gay, things took a whole different turn. The recruiter is now under investigation and LOTS of people are requesting for her to be fired. I read this a while ago from the local news paper from back home..but I just saw it pop up on CNN and thought I'd post about it.

So what do you think should be done? I feel the recruiter should be repremanded for what was done. The recruiter should have been more professional about it and not go off on the guy. Will she get fired? I don't see how they would just fire her since she is in the army, but I think they may demote her in rank if they see that her actions violated anything.

Here is the email exchange between the two. This was posted on the newspapers website.

They just can't fire you in the army. You need to be discharged. And that can take a few weeks to a month if not longer to do. A guy I know in the Army was supposed to be discharged about 2 years ago and they haven't done anything. They even gave him military housing and all. Only thing is that he can't get promoted to another rank.

Here is a video from CNN.

Not all military personnel are like that. There are alot of intelligent and very respectful people out there..its just a few bad apples that make others look bad.

I have a friend I've known since first grade( i.e. a loooong time) whose in military intelligence. He's an asshole and very smart but not a bigot. He's also quite good at coaxing the truth out of people thorugh mere conversation as well as being able to tell 20 seconds or so into a conversation whether or not you're lying.

The SCREAMING CAPS and bad grammar almost make me think it's BS....but I don't put anything past people anymore. The crap looks like a 13 year old wrote it....or someone who starred in "Idiocracy."

I am not sure if I can believe this or not. I suppose I could look on CNN and see if the story is legit. And I most likely will. However, being in the military myself, well the air force anyway, it's definitly a different way of life than the Army. I wouldn't know how Army life is, but I did have some friends in the Army and my sister and parents were as well. I can name about three people who are gay and are serving proudly. I figure it this way .... if a straight man can do his g/f or some chic from the dorms doggie style, which by the way is against the UCMJ, only missionary is okay; then why can't a man or woman who is homosexual do the same? If it is what makes you happy and be a productive member of society then so be it. I don't understand what the hang up is. And if you're that ignorant to be scared if the guy next to you is going to make out with you prior to dying, then well you're exactly what I just said. Because chances are that is the last thing that they're thinking of. People who have never been in war don't understand. Granted I haven't been over there like the Army and Marines have been for a year at a time and whatnot, I still know somewhat of what's happening over there. And when your convoy hits, you aren't thinking about when the next piece of ass is headed your way or how you can get it, you're thinking about saving people's lives and your own. I won't go into detail on that...but anyone who has been to Iraq or Afghan can relate to what I'm saying I am sure.

So with that said, I hope that people can understand that everyone is a person with hopes, dreams, heart, and soul and that no one should be treated like dirt. It's taken me a long time to figure that one out and very recently have I been applying it to my own life.

    Good Bye---

because military personel ARENT PEOPLE anymore, they are property of the US government. you know that, you personally signed that contract. you do as they say, how they say, and when they say. you know this.

back on topic: this is insane. but dont look down on the military for this, remember that the military is made up of volunteers from the civilian population. any retard can join as long as they have a GED. and most do. why isnt the uppety gay getting hollered at as well for waisting everyones time and trying to get people in trouble?

Well, I don't think Corey instigated it. I mean sure, in the end, he admitted that he didn't plan on joining the military anyway, but under the same token, he wasn't the one bashing the other for being human. If I were in his shoes, I would've done the same thing and gone public with the e-mail conversation too. This "sergeant" is no better for the military's sake than the soldiers who made a mockery of the military in Guantanamo Bay. Like Cuban said, it only takes one person to make everyone else look bad.

    i agree.

the woman went way off base with her ranting and raving. and i bet she behaves like that habitually. worst that will probably happen to her is a dishonorable discharge... most likely she will just be punished, demoted, and sent to do another job.

Yea, thats what they do with people at Wal-Mart that have tenure. Its happened four times at my work and one of those four was an assistant manager. They don't resolve the problem...they just move it somewhere else..

Pretty general, and off base comment. The military takes its members from the US population.....by saying that about the military, youre saying that about the country as a whole. Which is true though.

Military intelligence, an oxymoron? I take it you dont have any family members in the military then.

Has it been confirmed that the above transcript is 100% real?

Apparently, cause of that transcript, the recruiter was suspended from their position pending an investigation. If the Army is going off of that, then I assume it has to be true. I don't think they would suspend anyone if none of this wasn't true. Then again, I don't know the procedures of the military so I'm just assuming.

Just an update. The Sergeant was suspending of their recruiting duties and the army is still investigating. At the end of the article it states that this story has circulated around the net and it says that conservatives are saying the gay man pretty much baited the recrutier to say what she did. Regardless if he baited her or not, she should of kept it professional at all times.

True, not always the easiet thing to do, when faced with adversity though. But yes, shw should ahve kept it professional or just hung the phone up. Nothing would have happened to her I bet then.

Whoever made that comment about military intelligence, thanks...I am in the military... Please do not post your stereotypes here.

Sorry, that would be me. I know that not all people in the military are like that but its these people that make the rest of the military look bad. I have friends and family in the military and I know they're not stupid.
