Young adults today are suffering from the lack of proper grammar knowledge and usage. I am one of those young adults.

Being able to write clean and clear messages can and will take you a long way in life. You may have all the intelligence in the world but it'll mean nothing unless you can communicate your thoughts in writing.
Being able to write has made life so much easier for me. To help others who may be having trouble, try visiting Dr. Grammar.

Does anyone else have input on this topic they'd like to share?

We've got a local board that has a few members who seem to avoid punctuation and capitalization at all costs. Someone, with their infinite wisdom, formed an example concerning said topic.
It went, "I had to help my uncle jack off a horse" vs. "I had to help my uncle, Jack, off a horse." This may very well be all over the internet as an example, but it's a good one nonetheless.

I understand that some folks may not be as adept as others when it comes to typing. You should still make an attempt to clearly express your thought or comment as best you can. If you speak and/or type like an idiot, many times people will assume you are an idiot and not want to deal with you.

My job consists of writing back and forth to our members and I was trained to be very careful with how I write things before I send it off. My boss is a stickler for things like that.

But when it comes to forums, IM's, txt's, etc...I don't care..lol. But when i do need to write something important then i do take it seriously. When I shoot off complaint letters or thank you letters, etc, I am pretty proper with the way I write. I usually read those over like 2 or 3 times before sending them off.

What a lot of kids/young adults don't realize is that writing is very important especially when it comes to colleges, jobs, etc. When dey writ dis waii it pizzez me off becuz I cant ondurstan it. WTF?!

Pretty sure that's funny. But yeah it pisses me off too. And I don't like how people put idk-I don't know or any other variation of a word. Look ... it isn't that hard to spell our shit ... do it...trust me ... it will make people happier. I almost feel stupid when I have to read modern shorthand (my own little term) because it takes me forever to figure out what that person is writing. Thank goodness though that I haven't run into that a lot.
