**RANT**

I hate people who think they’re tough shit when they have family who run things. Had an incident Monday night at a teen event I was working at.

Its long, but it’s a time killer if you’re bored.

I work with this club promoter in MD. I do security and/or photography for him for different events. This past Monday night I was supposed to take pictures of the teen event he was hosting WITH two other promoters. One of the promoters is a regular at this one club and he knows the owner of the place. Unfortunately, he was not there because he was on vacation in Peru. So he had his friend stand in for him.

I get there on Monday night and my boy tells me that his girl is feeling sick (she’s pregnant) and couldn’t come to work the door like she usually does. So he called his mom to work the door and he needed me to stay with his mom to make sure no one gave her a hassle when paying. I had no issue with this and did it. He left me in charge of making decisions for him at the door since he had to help prep the stage for the performances that night. No big deal, I can handle that.

It was going smoothly until about 10pm when some kids walked in (about 5 in total) and said they were with G (the one in Peru). The stand in guy was no where to be found so I told them I can’t let them in until a) they find the stand in guy so he can confirm with me that they’re free b) pay $15.00 or c) turn around and leave.

Back track a bit to earlier in the night…So there is this guy who showed up earlier in the night and walked right into the club. He got yelled at by security and the owner of the club cause they didn’t know who he was. The whole night he was hanging out with the stand in guy behind the table I was working at. This is the convo that took place when those kids were given the 3 options.

Him: (very angrily) They get in for free.
Me: As of now, no they don’t. I need for someone to confirm their free entry.
Him: They work for G. G runs this place and they work for him.
Me: I told you No (getting pissed and extremely stern). I don’t know them and I don’t know you. So they’re not going anywhere.
Him: I told you G is the boss. Its what he says.
Me: No, I do as I was told by my boss.
Him: Your boss works for G so he can’t make up the rules.
Me: They’re still not getting in.

Of course he pissed me off but I was very stern with him and didn’t budge on my decision. Security walks over and asked whats going on. I told him that this idiot is telling me to let people in for free and I don’t even know who the hell he is. That’s when the stand in guy showed up. The asshat who was going at it with me asked the stand in guy who Chris was. He said, “that’s the other main promoter working WITH G.” Then the guy got even more mad cause he felt stupid and said “this idiot said he doesn’t know me and wouldn’t listen to me about letting the kids in for free..the kids that work with G.” Then the stand in guy said, “Yea, he’s right. He doesn’t know you so you need to fucken chill.”

That’s when he gave me the OK to let the kids in. The owner came over and spoke to the stand in guy and told him something and then he spoke to the asshat. It wasn’t good cause he was even more pissed and stayed quiet the entire night.

I later found out that this asshat was G’s cousin. If G wanted him to call the shots around there, then he would of put him in charge..but he didn’t.

There are just some people out there that get all high and mighty when they have family who run/own things. Things like that make others look bad. And I’m sure this G person is not going to be happy about it when he returns from vacation.

Owell…I got paid and he looked stupid..lol. Hopefully I won’t see him at the next event. If I was working security, I would of kicked him out.

I am guilty as charged.

Thats whats important.

IMO this ranting thing (the way understand it at least) is kinda a good thing because:
1. you let the steam off you (everyone needs an output)
2. others learn from your xperience

True. Its either write it out or talk to my dogs. But if I talk to my dogs and someone catches me, I think I may be put in the looney bin..lol.
