    fixing ticket!

so im driving with my friend, dropping him off at his house, i make a right passing a cop. she then realizes that i have a loud muffler so i see her start to follow, while all of this is happening i realize her from my rear view mirror i cruise it at 37 on a 35. she zooms right on my a$$ so then i move over to the right lane and she still follows me. moments later she pulls me over saying that i was going 45 on a 35 but i explain to her that i was going 37 on a 35 and she also pulls me over for a loud muffler, lucky its a sunday and she was a nice cop she just gave me a fixing ticket for my muffler. what pisses me the most off was that she speed up to probably 45ish to catch me and slowed down behind me and just assumed i was going 45....idk im just aggravated i guess.... so how was your guy's sunday morning???

cuz she was in the middle of driving i was making the right she was just sitting there waiting for the light to turn green but she heard me go next to her and drive by and followed me....

lol seriously though i literally got to like 30's and saw her behind me, maybe 500 feet away or something so i go to 37 to act natural, so then i see her speed up and get right on my tail...then pulls me over and junk..luckily she only gave me a fixing ticket...

    i think you mean a fix-it ticket.

be happy that's all you got...if you truly were speeding, that could have been worse for you. get a legal exhaust and you won't have that problem again.

Well how do you guys know that the radar gun was calibrated properly? How do you know she even used it? How do you even know she even knows how to use it? Even then she was coming from the opposite direction of him. So the speed shes traveling at plus the speed hes traveling at can off throw the radar detector. How do you know that didnt happen? There are just too many questions here.

i was accelerating 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, saw her behind me 500ish feet away then just accelerated again and stopped at 37mph on a 35....from a stop i made a right hand turn and accelerated all the way to 37 and stopped....lol and yes i was let off easily lol....
well mayur actually what happened was she was first in front a stoplight...then it was a suv then me...so cop, suv, me but i wanted to make a right so i just roll over to the right turn lane to make a right so i was next to her...she wanted to go straight but when i made that right she heard me and made a right herself, going out of her way to pull me over lol and she didnt have a gun on her cuz she was driving and i saw...she just drove and assumed i guess i was going 45...

^^icic, thats unusual then...they do have rear radars in cop cars too and she may've clocked you going 45 approaching the light...i dunno..just throwin out that possibility. Regardless, at least you just got a fix it ticket.

Over here, I knew a guy that had a mustang with 50 state legal pipes and it was a really popular brand although I can't recall the name. He had the papers that came with the exhaust that said it was certified by the company that it was 50 state legal. When he got pulled over, the cop got really aggravated and gave him a ticket for it. He fought the ticket and had the ticket thrown out.

What gets me are all those f*ckin loud ass harleys that you can hear from miles away..how they can ride next to a cop and not get bothered. There are quite the handful over here since Tulsa has two Harley specialty shops.

lol^ but i think they allow harleys and other motorbikes to be that loud as an added safety precaution for themeslves...since they are smaller, they are less visible than a car so at least you can hear them when they are coming...

or i could be just talking out of my ass

And how do we know he wasn't actually doing 45? ;) It's all speculation...welcome to the internet. :D

I daresay she's much more qualified than you -- and I doubt his speed combined with her speed will "off throw the radar detector." :p

We have front and rear radar mounted -- no handheld gun involved. Whether you're coming towards me or away from me...front or behind...you're 'fair game.' :D

lol -- well, perhaps I'd be wondering why I couldn't get a reading? Never fear...the motor vehicle code is rather extensive, and there are plenty of other options. :p

better and cheaper solution - slow down. jammers don't save you all the time. ;)

the police have to sign the ticket.

I want to go get a radar gun and stand on a street corner radaring cops all day :) I think the results would be funny, and then I could post them up on a webpage. Hey that sounds like a fun idea'r ;)

Ever get stuck behind a trooper on the interstate going the exact speed limit? It backs traffic up, cuz no one wants to pass them.

I especially get annoyed when no one will pass a cruiser from another jurisdiction. Pass that bitch!

oh hell, just rent a Grand Marquis and bring a hairdryer...point the dryer out the window. it's much cheaper and has the same effect.

to really play it up, make sure you wear dark sunglasses and make sure the car is dark blue or black. as long as it LOOKS like a cruiser, people will slow down.

Nah, he wants to make cops look bad by saying they all speed, since he hates cops so much.....until he needs one

yeah, i didn't fully read his post.

i will admit SOME officers have an ego, but not all. to my knowledge my upstairs neighbor doesn't...he's exceedingly polite (as is his wife) and offered his assistance if i ever needed it.

A less costly and innovative way is to convert your pre-existing detector into a jammer. On top of that you can make yourself a MIRT too while your at it, lol....but yes indeed, just slowing down would be the wisest of answers.
I hate when this happens. It especially happens along Riverside Drive which is where the South Tulsa police headquarters are. Speed limit is 50 but cops are always doing 45 and the long line starts. I always pass and once I become the first "brave" one to pass the cop, you start to see like 10 other people merge into the passing lane as well...

If you believe your exhaust noise is under 95dB, fight the ticket call 800-622-7733 to speak to California BAR and schedule a test. The test cost you nothing. If you pass, submit the paperwork to the clerk and call it a day.
