wow, we have the same birthday... im just 4 years older.

i have a class A cdl and have driven a lot of different trucks and unless youre on the long haul or are looking for traffic info they are just a pain in the ass. people on them are mostly rude and vulgar, and some of the people who have stronger radios just talk over everyone and its loud as hell.

I may get one for my truck eventually, but it'd mainly be for trails, and possibly picking up something interesting on my (hopeful) move across the country...

No -- I'm leaning towards a small one mounted in the ash tray compartment, since I don't smoke (and don't permit anyone to smoke in my truck). I don't want it to be in the way at all.

I have one in my car, and it gets to be a big help if say I'm stuck in traffic or something, especally on highways...and you can get a little shorty antenna that looks like one of them cell phone ones that you stick to both sides of your window... kinda nice..

I have a cheap simple cobra installed in my dash where the 5th and 6th cup holders used to be. I also have an actual CB antennae bracket mounted inside my bed with a real antennae. I'd show you pictures, but it won't really help you seeing as what I drive. I put one in my truck SPECIFICALLY for 1 reason, but ended up getting 2 uses out of it.
    1) 4-wheeling with a couple people without cell service and having radios is SO nice.
    2) Listening to the hard-core redneck truckers argue back and forth on the highway provides me hours and hours of entertainment.
