    yeahh, i would advise against running Vista with just the bare minimum hardware. since XP is still widely supported i'd suggest sticking with it. like you said, barely any current software will run on Vista...there's just not enough software and hardware support available for it yet.

    that said, i'd also avoid running the first release of any Microsoft software, just to let them work the kinks out. we've been playing with Vista at work since the initial beta, and while our computers can run it, it's entirely too resource heavy for the medical software we need to run...and the release version has repeatedly crashed one of our brand new XPS workstations, which was purchased specifically to fiddle with Vista.

    Yeah, a 2-year-old computer won't cut it, upgrade to a $4000 new system and then run Windows Vista :lol:

    or just buy any Dell...they're all Vista-capable now.
